Due:
- Revised bio and artist statement (posted to your blog).
- Journal response (only one due this week).
- Should be working on your critical evaluation draft.
Assignment (for next class):
- Locate at least three possible (reputable) places that sell art, whether online or in a gallery and within your medium/genre, that is NOT directly through the artist’s website or an established institutional one (i.e. gallery, artist’s collective, etc.). Come into class with the website address, a few printed sample pieces from each site, and be prepared to discuss what works well and what doesn’t about the layout and design of the site, how effectively the artwork is displayed, and how well descriptions of the artwork are written.
- Write a first draft “product” description for two pieces of your own art.
- REMINDER: Critical Evaluation draft – Due Monday, June 7th.
Friday, June 4th: Business Proposals, Grants, and Budgets
Due:
- “Product” description (w/ accompanying images).
- Three examples of selling/marketing art online.
Assignment (for next class):
- Create a draft project outline for either a business proposal or grant proposal and create a preliminary budget (see handout).
- Critical evaluation draft due on June 7th!
